Formative complements

After having analysed the student's curriculum vitae and thesis project, the Academic Committee of the Doctoral Programme will decide whether it is appropriate for the student to undertake the necessary additional training (as set out in Royal Decree 99/2011), taking into account the specific training required to correctly undertake the research work.

Where appropriate, the list of courses to be taken by the student will be defined from among those offered in official university master's degrees at the University of Valladolid with courses related to this doctorate.

Should any specific gaps be observed in the undergraduate training, a course from this training cycle might also be recommended from among the undergraduate courses available at the University of Valladolid.

The following general principles shall apply:

1) The required additional training shall consist of modules of up to 20 or 40 ECTS credits.

2) For the choice of courses to be taken and their total number of ECTS credits, the relationship between the courses taken by the candidate in the master's degree and his/her thesis project will be taken into account. This project may also be considered as an extension of the master's thesis.

3) The committee shall maintain a register of applications and required supplementary training in order to ensure uniformity and consistency of criteria over time.
