Recommended admission profile
This doctoral programme is designed to be in line with the traditional open, multidisciplinary and integrative nature of industrial engineering. This will allow it to provide an attractive offer of research training for students, with the following general profiles:
- Engineering, in its different specialities.
- Architecture, in particular in the field of energy and building facilities.
- Science, mainly physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
- Social sciences related to business administration and management.
The specific profiles recommended, in terms of the degrees that grant access to the doctorate, are the following:
- Official University Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering.
- Official Master's Degree in Energy: Generation, Management and Efficient Use.
- Official University Master's Degree in Process and Systems Engineering Research.
- Official University Master's Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automation Engineering.
- Candidates from other masters or doctoral programmes with content related to this programme, both national and foreign, who meet the conditions set out in Royal Decree 99/2011, may also be admitted.

The requirements for access to doctoral studies are set out in article 6 of Royal Decree 99/2011, of 28 January, which regulates official doctoral studies, as amended by Royal Decree 576/2023, of 4 July.
